Home!

It is Friday night now. We arrived on Wed night after the last 2 very long days of driving/riding. Never have we seen so many dead deer on the sides of the roads. It was awful to see such beautiful animals that way. We must have seen 50 or more each day especially through Pennsylvania.

It is so good to be back(and see the ocean minutes away) and have my sister in law here for a few days before she flies home. Lots of things planned besides mail to go through, a few bills to pay, and some grocery shopping today (including a turkey!). We then cooked a big dinner for tonight (stuffies, brie and crackers, pizza, carrots, broccoli, butternut squash, pork loin, and homemade rolls but forgot to cook the potatoes--but did not forget desserts!) when my immediate family came to visit with my sister in law. She said they always make her feel welcome...

The last days of coming home:

All I wanted to do was head east or north, if a sign said west or south we shut off the GPS, ignored  the maps we had and stubbornly went east or north.

Never in my life have I said this but I am tired of driving!
After the drive home, yesterday morning I brought my car to get new tires, took the rental and met a friend for lunch about 40 miles away, then went to pick my car up and then return the rental and drive home. I am glad all that is done and that now my car is all set for the foreseeable future-new brakes, windshield wipes, oil change as well as the tires. I have no idea why I thought getting up and out early was such a good idea as it was truly not. Glad that I am done with the rental (although it was a really good car, it was not mine and it was good to turn it in)

Last blog from this trip, I am glad I traveled and almost 6,000 miles later...glad to be home.
